No “sex talk” is permitted at all, IC or OOC. This includes graphic breeding. You will be banned if you do so.
No excessive cursing, please. I mean, 'damn' isn't too bad, but don't go off and have a cuss rant.
Be polite to other members OOC. If you have an argument, take it to PM's.
Absolutely no racist or sexist terms to other players. You will be banned.
No spamming. ex: Posting 'hi' is considered spam. Posting 'hi' over and over is serious spam.
Please don't give someone a hard time because their posts are longer or shorter than what you prefer. We welcome all levels here.
Basic
Think of skunks like small dogs. I mean, they have a special defense mechanism. So what? They aren't going to spray every living thing! xD They don't spray other skunks.
Fighting, Breeding, and Births all take place in the appropriate boards.
No "g-moding" or "powerplaying". G-moding is when your character is perfect and over-powerful, ex. Fluffy the skunk grew flame-throwers on his paws and killed everybody. Powerplaying is when you control someone else's character without their permission, ex. Red said 'I love you', so Lavender said that too.
Your skunk isn't always going to be treated kindly. Don't take grudges out of character into the ic world and vise versa.
Claiming
The Holly Tree in Lilybird Fields is to be used as the Claiming Grounds. Normal rps in Lilybird Fields are allowed, but the Holly Tree is to be solely used as a Claiming Area.
Although rare, kits and young males may also go to the Holly Tree to find a home.
While you're still in the Holly Tree area, you cannot force anyone to go with your char. Okay, your character can, but if the rper doesn't want them to, too bad.
The Red Sands may be used to battle over females.
Fighting
First, to have a fight, you need a challenge. Post the challenge in the board, or, if over a female, in the thread OOC.
The challenged have 7 days to respond. If not, the challenger wins by default.
Terms are to be agreed upon. If argument over terms ensues, the staff will set said terms.
A male must have at least one companion, regardless of gender, before they challenge, unless staff says otherwise.
Each fight may have three attacks and one dodge per player.
At the end of the fight, two staff members will decide upon the winner. If they can't agree, either
1. More staff will be called to decide.
2. A poll will be started.
When females challenge for queen's position, and the original queen does not win, the king can not change it.
Breeding & Births
Absolutely no graphic breeding or birthing will be allowed. PURE AND SIMPLE.
Skunks reach sexual maturity around two years.
Forcebreeding will be tolerated, but once again, no graphic breeding.
A staff member will choose the kits' stats for you.
After their birth, the female's rper may start a thread, and the father will "inspect" the kits. He may kill any kits he thinks are not worthy.
Before the "inspection", all kits must have rpers. Staff will put them up for adoption if you cannot choose willing rpers for them.
Burrows
In Mephitidae, there are no kings and allegiances; merely the scattered burrow. So, in one's burrow, the burrow-master has absolute authority.
The only thing a burrow-master/leader cannot do is kill a member of their burrow, unless the player gives their consent. If the player of said condemned skunk gives the okay, go on and have a massacre.
I will stress this point: there is no such thing as Heiress. Leaders must have a male heir, whether it be their son or their brother. If there is no such heir when the lead dies, the territory will be given to the highest-ranking male. If there is none, the burrow is up for grabs.
